We tried the new Browns Brasserie in the Marriott Hotel

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Browns Brasserie & bar has returned to Cardiff, inside the Marriott Hotel on Mill Lane and it’s a beauty. With the brand celebrating its 51st year, it was great to see them back in Cardiff.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with excellent service, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The new interiors take inspiration from the 1920s with art deco styling, luxurious furnishings and opulent finishes

Open all day from breakfast through to dinner, visitors to Browns Brasserie & Bar Cardiff will be able to feast on classic British dishes and fresh seasonal creations.

There’s fresh market fish delivered daily, fresh lobster, sharing Chateaubriand and fillet steak surf & turf, as well as traditional roasts on Sundays. [/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/lQ4B1z49GrI”][vc_column_text]

WHAT WE ORDERED

We were thoroughly impressed with our starters. The garlic prawn and chorizo starter was a particular highlight, with succulent prawns and spicy chorizo perfectly complemented by a garlic-infused sauce. The goats cheese fig salad was also a winner, with the creamy goat cheese and the sweetness of the figs balancing each other out perfectly.

The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the steak was incredibly tender and juicy. The accompanying sides of crispy fries and fresh salad rounded off the dish beautifully.

There is also plenty for vegetarians and vegans to enjoy – and a delicious Gluten Free menu that’s accredited by Coeliac UK.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”29621″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When it comes to drinks, guests can take advantage of the magnificent new bar, serving hand-crafted cocktails, wines and fizz, which were made to perfection. The Banana Mai tai was a standout, with a delightful balance of sweet and sour flavours that complemented the rum perfectly.

To top it all off, Browns will also be hosting weekly live piano performances every Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime.

Overall, The food was exceptional, and the cocktails hit the spot perfectly and we had excellent service throughout evening, it was a great dining experience. We I can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes on the menu.
