Cardiff’s biggest Welsh language festival, Tafwyl, is back for another vibrant weekend of music, arts, and culture on 14-15 June. Set in the heart of the city, the free two-day event brings together an exciting mix of Welsh creatives, musicians, and performers, offering something for everyone—whether you’re a fluent Welsh speaker or just discovering the language.
Organised by Menter Caerdydd, Tafwyl has grown to become one of Wales’ leading cultural festivals, attracting thousands of attendees every year.

This year’s festival promises five music stages, featuring top Welsh acts including Diffiniad, PYS Melyn, and Fleur De Lys, who will take centre stage across the Prif Lwyfan and Tafiliwn stages.
Beyond the music, Tafwyl is packed with activities for all ages. Visitors can explore the kids’ village, a sports area, and an array of street food and market stalls, all celebrating the best of Welsh culture.
This year’s artists include some of Wales’ most popular bands, appealing to a very broad audience. The Saturday and Sunday evening performances will end with special performances from the retro pop band Diffiniad, who will reform specially for the festival, Pys Melyn, MR, and Fleuer De Lys. Speaking about the launch in London, Heulyn Rees, Chief Executive of Menter Caerdydd, said:
“Launching Tafwyl in London has been a special opportunity to promote Tafwyl outside Wales, and we hope that many young Welsh people from the city will be inspired to return to Cardiff in June to celebrate their Welsh identity.”
The 2025 band list is particularly exciting, with organizers thrilled to see some popular bands reforming, such as Diffiniad and Gwibdaith Hen Fran, along with some of the most exciting bands in the music scene as part of an incredibly varied schedule.
Reflecting on the schedule, one of the Tafwyl organizers, Leanne Rochefort-Shugar, said:
“Tafwyl is more than a festival; it’s a celebration of Welsh culture in all its forms. We are delighted to announce this year’s line-up with this special event in London, giving a taste of what’s to come in Cardiff this summer.”
