Cardiff is gearing up for a night steeped in indie nostalgia as “This is History!”- The Britpop Revolution arrives at The Gate on 20 February. Described as the ultimate live show celebrating one of Britain’s most defining music movements, it lands in the city just months after IndieSummer and Oasis kicked off their Live 25 tour in Cardiff. The timing could not feel more right.

This is more than a tribute gig. The Britpop Revolution is a show that tells the full story of the movement through the very songs that shook the charts. It tracks the journey from the first sparks of Britpop, through its cultural takeover in the nineties and onto the era’s biggest and most beloved moments.
The show begins with the early sounds of bands such as The Stone Roses, Primal Scream and James, capturing the first hints of swagger and attitude that would soon define the decade. From there it moves through the breakthrough years and into the height of the scene, where acts like Blur, Pulp, Suede and Oasis battled for headlines and fans.
Expect the guitar anthems, lyrical wit and sing along choruses that shaped student bedrooms, festivals and front rooms across the country. With a powerhouse live band recreating the biggest tracks and a production loaded with visuals and history, the show brings the Britpop timeline to life in real time.
