The Seafood Shack opens this weekend!

The long awaited opening of Cardiff’s swanky new seafood and oyster shack is finally taking place this week and we will all get to see the food at one of Cardiff’s most anticipated seafood restaurants.
After opening briefly for the Champions League final for Spanish and Italian fans, the first of Seafood Shack’s new restaurant will launch their 200 seater flagship store in Cardiff, which will not only be providing delicious fresh seafood, but it will be served with a unique and ethical twist in its (lobster) tail.
Seafood Shack recognises the importance of forward thinking when it comes to our native marine resources, and so it has now joined a growing band of responsible maritime businesses that wish to help support the marine conservation, research and education work of The National Lobster Hatchery (NLH).
The NLH, which is based in Padstow, Cornwall, helps conserve native lobster populations by raising baby lobsters at their quayside hatchery, then releasing them at a stage when they are better able to survive in the wild. They created the clever scheme entitled ‘Buy One Set One Free’ to enable seafood suppliers and their customers to all do their bit to help sustain vulnerable stocks. The restaurant will make a donation on every lobster which goes to the NLH to help them raise and release a baby lobster back, on the customer’s behalf.
Terry Rogers, Operations Director of Seafood Shack says, ‘We are so pleased to have found the National Lobster Hatchery. Who wouldn’t love the idea that simply by dining in our restaurant, you are helping to raise and release baby lobsters back into our waters to help sustain vulnerable stocks.”
The restaurant will be serving fresh seafood dishes in an open theatre kitchen, with over 100 wines to choose from, cocktails and craft beer. As you would imagine the selection of fish on offer will be unlike any other restaurant in the city, cooked to your preference accompanied by one of their homemade sauces. Other dishes will include Jumbo Crab Claws, Scallops, Prawns, Clams, Mussels, Langoustines and fishcakes.
For those not keen on fish there will also be a selection of in-house made burgers plus a gigantic 10oz Tomahawk Steak and an impressive vegetarian and vegan menu.
The Seafood Shack restaurant and “Lillies Champagne & Oyster Bar” exclusive preview night takes place this Wednesday and will be ready to open to the public on Thursday 15th June.
