Review: Idles Rock Cardiff Castle to Its Core

Last night, Cardiff Castle experienced one of its wildest nights yet as Idles took the stage and rocked the historic venue to its very foundations. Known for their intense energy and generosity towards fans, Idles brought an unforgettable show to frontman Joe Talbot’s homecoming Welsh Show.

From the opening number, Talbot commanded the crowd to create a moshpit, carving out a no man’s land down the middle. “Are you ready to collide?” he shouted, kickstarting an evening of heavy music, anti-royal sentiments, and their iconic Tory-bashing chants. The band’s sound was better than ever, and the Welsh audience soaked up every raw moment.

In a heartfelt moment, Joe thanked the crowd for their warm reception and even dedicated a song to local restauranteur James Chant from Matsudaira Ramen and his new baby, adding a personal touch to an already remarkable and night. It was easy to see that Joe was loving every minute of playing to a welsh crowd.

Idles left Cardiff buzzing, proving once again why they’re one of the most generous and engaging bands around. Their energy was infectious, their music powerful, and their connection with the audience undeniable. All we can say is what an experience, and what a night to remember sending shock waves from here to Newport.
