Cardiff Bay is about to welcome a big new name in the burger world. Popular Welsh burger restaurant Sharkbite Burger is making the move to the Bay, opening at Platform, located at the top of Bute Street by the new Cardiff train station.
Known for bold flavours and seriously stacked burgers, Sharkbite has built a loyal following for doing things a bit differently. Their menu is all about indulgence done right. Think juicy double smashed burgers like the Dr. Shark, a pulled pork burger slow-cooked in Dr Pepper, and loaded burger boxes piled high with giant mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, waffle fries and cheesy dirty fries.

This is not just another burger spot chasing trends. Sharkbite is a small Welsh family business built on quality, creativity and a strong sense of community. Every item on the menu reflects that hands-on approach, from the flavour combinations to the way everything is cooked and served.
For the Cardiff opening, the team are keeping things simple to start with. They plan to stick to the dishes they know and love while they get settled into their new kitchen at Platform. Once they have a feel for what Cardiff customers are into, they are keen to introduce their popular monthly specials and start experimenting again.
The move comes after spotting a growing appetite in Cardiff for high-quality, standout burger options. Sharkbite believe they can bring something a little different to the city, while still fitting perfectly into the local food scene.

The plan is for a mid-spring opening, with April firmly in their sights. And in true Sharkbite style, they are not planning a quiet launch. There will be freebies and tasters during the first few weeks, because it would not feel right opening without giving something back.
Anyone keen to be first in line for free goodies can sign up through Platform’s website at www.platform-streetfood.co.uk.
With a prime Bay location, big flavours and a community-led approach, Sharkbite’s move to Cardiff is shaping up to be a tasty one.
