Pete Tong plays Cardiff Castle!

Iconic DJ brings his evening of classical takes on seminal dance tracks to Cardiff this  summer for another evening of great music inside Cardiff Castle.

Pete Tong is taking his Ibiza Classics show on the road across the UK once more in 2018. Tickets for the show go on sale at 9.30am this Friday 27th April from Ticketmaster

With classic tracks performed by the 65 piece Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley, the show celebrates the legacy of dance music, bringing spectacular visuals and orchestral interpretations of timeless tunes On Saturday 28th July

The event is being promoted by Time Flies  the longest-running club night in Wales which has attracted some of the biggest names in house and trance music.

Time Flies, first launched by promoter Henry Blunt, has enticed world-renowned DJs Toney De Vit, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and Carl Cox to Cardiff since its first event at the Coal Exchange in 1994.

The show is a must see for ravers, party animals and everyone who ever saw Ibiza as their Mecca, an irresistible combination of the UK’s most influential DJ with a 65 piece orchestra and a spectacular visual show with lasers.

The concept first came to fruition after a lot of hard work and careful curation at the massively successful BBC Proms show at the Royal Albert Hall three years ago. Pete’s collaboration with the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley went on to play arenas around the world, including the Hollywood Bowl and two sold out nights at the O2, and spawned the album Classic House, which sold over 200,000 copies and reached number one in the UK, and the follow-up, Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, which has so far amassed over 120,000 sales.

The Cardiff Castle date is promoted by a dream team featuring the Orchard Media and Events Group and three times Live UK National Promoter – DHP Family, who are also promoting the first run of four nights with Ed Sheeran at the Principality Stadium in June. Orchard, twice winner of the Regional Promoter of the Year in the UK Live Music Business Awards have staged hugely successful concerts with the likes of Paul Weller in the Castle grounds, and the sold out Catfish And The Bottlemen gig takes place the following night on July 29. Orchard’s director Pablo Janczur said: “Pete Tong and the orchestra will recreate the spirit of Ibiza in a castle in the centre of Cardiff for what will be the party highlight of summer 2018. It’s a huge experience, and vividly captures a real moment in time.”

Pete Tong has been a massively influential figure in dance music over the past 20 years, predominantly as the voice of Radio 1’s prestigious dance programming. The Essential Mix continues to be the standard bearer of mix shows, and his Essential Selectionis still the influential place to premiere new records. All Gone Pete Tong is a residency brand and cult classic film, as well, of course, as being widely used in rhyming slang.

So as the sun sets over one of Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks, soak in this glorious musical & visual spectacle, and be part of a monumental occasion in the Welsh capital. Tickets available on Friday 27th April from Tickemaster.co.uk
