Cardiff’s Womanby Street will be taken over by some of the UK’s most exciting underground bands next spring as Noizzefest returns for its fourth edition.
The one-day alternative music festival will return on Saturday 24 April 2027, bringing 18 bands across three stages to two of Cardiff’s best-known independent music venues.
For 2027, the festival will take over both rooms at Clwb Ifor Bach, alongside a third stage at neighbouring Fuel Rock Club, creating an all-day celebration of alternative and underground music in the heart of Womanby Street.
And organisers have now revealed the first wave of artists heading to Cardiff.
Leading the announcement are Ronker, who will headline the TJP Tours/Clwb Ifor Bach second stage, while De’Lourwill take over headline duties at Fuel Rock Club.
They’ll be joined by Beyond Extinction, Dye, Breichiau Hir, AARONSON and Sans Froid, with plenty more bands still to be announced.
The festival is organised by the team behind UK alternative music website Noizze and The Noizze Podcast Network, with a focus on championing rising artists and bringing together the alternative music community.
Since launching, Noizzefest has established itself as a showcase for emerging talent, with previous editions featuring bands including Unpeople, Calva Louise, Knives, Love Rarely, Haggard Cat, Burner, Knife Bride, Vexed and Worn Out.
Its return will once again put Womanby Street at the centre of the action, allowing festival-goers to move between the three stages throughout the day.
Ronker – The downstairs room of CLWB won’t know what hit it with our second stage headliners from Belgium. Off the back of a superb second album release they brought their high energy live show to ATG recently and blew the ruddy doors off. Be prepared for chaos. FFO: Knives, Coilguns, Metz
De’Lour – Headlining our FUEL stage we welcome De’Lour. Hailing from South Wales they will be very much representing Cardiff with their atmospheric, soaring yet heavy metal. Expect emotion and riffs galore. FFO: Periphery, Deftones, Bullet For My Valentine
Beyond Extinction – The nastiest thing to emerge from Essex since TOWIE, Beyond Extinction bring the sludgy beatdown and guttural, bowels of hell vocals and will have their new EP Three Swords in tow. Dye – Channeling late 90s/early 00s, Bristolians Dye bring their gritty grunge laden metal to Womaby street with explosive delivery. Gathering momentum recently this talented gang are definitely one to follow. FFO: Alice In Chains, Mannequin Death Squad, Lambrini Girls
Breichiau Hir – Dragging the Welsh language into the modern alternative world, Cardiff post-hardcore six-piece Breichiau Hir deliver hefty alt rock riffs with a retro Cool Cymru swagger and a DIY punk ethos. FFO: Thursday, Adwaith, Alkaline Trio
AARONSON – One of the hardest working names in the thriving Welsh post-rock scene, Aaronson bring their slow-burning atmospheres and colossal riffs back to Womanby Street. Aaronson weave sagas for anyone who likes their instrumental music immersive and cinematic. FFO: Nordic Giants, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky
Sans Froid – Bristol based piano-led art-rockers Sans Froid have spent the last six years as one of the most unique and exciting acts in the UK’s experimental world. Bringing their disorienting and memorable sound to Noizzefest’s main stage, Sans Froid aren’t a band to miss. FFO: The Mars Volta, Peach, Geese
An additional 11 bands will be announced in the coming months, including the Clwb Main Stage headliner. As well as partners at the festival and stage splits/times.
With 18 bands eventually set to make up the full line-up, the first announcement is just a taste of what’s coming, with more artists expected to be revealed ahead of the festival.
