New restaurant The Deck is firing up its grills this Friday. With the combination of the unique location and fresh fish dishes, we think this one will quickly become a favourite amongst the local boating community and landlubbers alike.
The Cardiff based company behind the new venue, Coastline Bars, are hoping to breathe new life into Penarth Marina after taking over the site of Pier 64 that sadly closed its doors earlier in the year. Customers will have the chance to walk on water in a relaxed atmosphere, on the brand-new Jetty bar. So, you can float on the calm waters of The Bay, watching the sunset, sipping a Pinot, and munching on Lobster and Oysters. Along with some pub classics, the food menu is setting the bar high for dockside dining.
If it gets too chilly there is also an indoor bar area for light bites and snacks. As well as seafood, burgers, pasta, and breakfast will be available every day from 9 am.
Coastline Bars spokesman, Phillip Lay revealed a bit about what customers can expect in the coming weeks:
“The Deck is going to bring a vibrant, fun food and beverage outlet to the Marina. It’s a very unique location and we look forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike. It’ll provide boat owners and marina residents with a great feeling of belonging when they come in; we want them to feel part of what we’re doing as well as those from further afield.”
While of course, The Deck will open under strict COVID guidelines, we are hoping they will build in momentum as further restrictions are lifted. Their relaxed family vibe and awesome outdoor space are certainly something to look forward to. We can really see this place becoming another one of Cardiff’s foodie gems as time goes on.
