Passionate fundraiser organises inaugural “Pontcanna Sound Fest” to support Velindre Cancer Centre and Feature Exciting Lineup of Cardiff’s Emerging Artists
This event will bring together some of Cardiff’s most promising and established talent, all in the name of charity.
Otley has a rich history of organising successful fundraising events for Velindre Cancer Centre, raising over £25,000 to date through a variety of creative efforts, including a 90s Rave, a Studio 54-themed party, an attempted record-breaking fitness event, and an intimate comedy night featuring acclaimed comedian Rhod Gilbert.
With a deep love for music and live events, Otley is now combining these passions to create Pontcanna Sound Fest, a celebration of local talent and community spirit.
Scheduled to take place on 28th September in the heart of Pontcanna, the event will feature an eclectic lineup of artists, including:
Ella Mayah , Lady Garden , Noon Wolf , Samantha , DFlexxx, Jessika Kay, Reece Lucas, Isabella Aubin, G-Man, Leah Marie, Echoes of Youth Choir and Imira, as well as local 90’s band The Plums, The Voice’s Leighton Jones, emerging singer-songwriter Sonoma Sherborne, and James Jones.

In partnership with local charity Sound Progression, supported by Paul Lyons and Carole Blade, the event will spotlight a new generation of artists, helping them gain exposure and connect with the community.
Alexandra’s dedication to Velindre Cancer Centre extends beyond organising local events. A seasoned adventurer, she recently climbed Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, as part of her ongoing training for a 2025 trek across Patagonia. This ambitious 10-day journey will honour the rich Welsh history of Patagonia, culminating in an eisteddfod at the top of Graig Goch, reflecting the cultural ties between Wales and the region.
“Music and community have always been close to my heart,” says Alexandra “Pontcanna Sound Fest is not just about raising money; it’s about celebrating the incredible talent we have here in Cardiff and bringing people together for a cause that affects so many.
