Heathwood Swimming and Helpu Cymru are teaming up to launch a new initiative, Men’s Swim & Social, an open water swimming club designed specifically for men. The event, set for Thursday, 22 August 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, promises to be a fantastic opportunity to boost both physical and mental well-being through outdoor swimming.
Open water swimming has been lauded for its numerous health benefits, including improved immune function and enhanced mental happiness. This launch event aims to introduce men to the joys of outdoor swimming, while also fostering a sense of community and support.
The event will feature special guests, including TV and film actor Mark Lewis Jones and former rugby union player Shane Williams. Swimming coach Dave Tonge from Heathwood Swimming and Ian Smith from men’s mental health charity Helpu Cymru will also be in attendance to offer guidance and support.
The schedule includes a pre-swim coffee and chat, a welcome from the special guests, and a guided swim session in the scenic Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs. The event costs £10.00 and promises to be a great start to a new healthy habit. Don’t miss this chance to dive into something new and improve your well-being!
