Irish pop-dance sensation LYRA UK Tour Will Come to Cardiff

Irish pop-dance sensation LYRA is set to wow audiences in Cardiff as part of her highly anticipated UK tour. Following the release of her electrifying single “Chess,” which has garnered widespread acclaim and resonated deeply with fans, LYRA is gearing up to grace the stage at The Globe on Tuesday, May 7th.

LYRA
was busy performing “Chess” at shows throughout 2023, including the main stage at Electric Picnic and supporting P!NK at BST in Hyde Park. It was a record that resonated with her audience and it was inevitable that “Chess” was going to be the lead track from her new studio album. The record was crafted by UK producers Mark Crew and Dan Priddy who also worked with Bastille, Rag‘n’Bone Man and Freya Ridings.

Opening with LYRA’s hypnotising vocal presence before leading into a dark rhythmic tempo, “Chess” radiates with the kind of infectious energy and lyrical hooks she has made her calling cards. Written about starting-out in the music industry and the perils associated with that period in her life, the song earnestly reflects the conflicts she faced in navigating a music career while being unapologetically true and authentic to herself.

Speaking about the single LYRA says:

“My dad taught me how to play chess when I was younger. It was a massive mind game and when I grew up it reminded me about a lot of obstacles I had to get through in order to find out who I am… I was constantly being asked “what box do you fit in” and I really struggled with that. We are not built for boxes and life isn’t about ticking off lists. The day I said “enough is enough, I’m not your pawn anymore” is the day I created Chess”.

To celebrate the release of “Chess”, LYRA will be heading out on a twenty two date Irish Tour this Spring, while returning to the UK for four dates, including London’s Omeara.
