Only a couple of weeks after launching their click and collect menu, Black Salt have already seen some rave reviews rolling in. Mediterranean inspired newcomer offers burgers with calamari sides in the week and mega roasts on Sundays. They are a sister restaurant of the legendary Charleston’s Steakhouse, so I am sure you could get some belter steaks if you fancied them as well.

One of a few on this list that have consistently been delivering some mind-blowing Sunday roasts throughout lockdown, The Pilot is guaranteed to come to the rescue with all the trimmings in tow. No fuss here, just pick your choice of meat and load up on gravy, spuds, and Yorkshire puds. Followed by a classic apple crumble and you are definitely going to see some happy faces! Even if they are over zoom this year!

Another business that’s been keeping our homes in bloom during lockdown. Why get mum the flowers when you can get her the whole plant? Houseplants make great Mothers Day gifts because there is such a wide variety available, with some that are low‑maintenance and easy‑going for the new gardener and some that require a little more attention for mums that are well‑versed in all things green‑fingered.

Under fairly recent new management, The North Star is another one that has made a name for itself in the Roast dinner delivery game in the last few months. You will find all your classics here, with plenty of variety on sides. Final one on our list and we have saved a long running local legend till last. You can always count on Custom House to deliver if you have craving for some of the freshest seafood in Cardiff, and this Mother’s Day they will not disappoint. Their two-course menu has the classic beef, pork or lamb option, but with the bonus choice of Half Lobster Thermidor, drizzled with garlic oil and served with fresh sauteed potatoes.
