The parody musical is about to head out on the UK tour with stop at Cardiff this summer.

Tony! The Tony Blair Rock Opera, written by Harry Hill and Steve Brown, is currently on a UK tour, with new dates added to the schedule. The show, directed by Peter Rowe, will be coming to Cardiff New Theatre from 14th to 17th June.

The musical tells the story of how one man went from peace-loving, long-haired hippy and would-be pop star to warmongering multimillionaire in just a couple of decades. Throw in a stellar cast of larger-than-life characters – Cherie Blair, Princess Diana, John Prescott, Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell, Osama bin Laden, George W Bush, Saddam Hussein and Gordon Brown – it’s Yes, Minister meets The Rocky Horror Show and a musical like no other.

The production features set and costume design by Libby Watson, lighting design by Mark Dymock and choreography by Francesca Jaynes. It should be noted that the production is not endorsed by Tony Blair or any of the individuals portrayed in the show.

The tour will be visiting various other cities, including Guildford, Birmingham, Richmond, Brighton, Bath, Chester, Malvern, Darlington, Sedgefield, Edinburgh, and Salford, with newly added dates in Derby, Bromley, Eastbourne, and Liverpool.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
