Green Man Day 2

The Saturday of Green Man always promises big things and this year did not disappoint. Starting with queer icon Lynks who brought the party to the main stage early, dragging hungover heads out of bed to the dancefloor.

From there we took a chance to explore the sights of the festival; making a wish at the Green Man, tasting some local Cardiff delicacies from food vendors Bao Selector and having an impromptu lecture from the Cardiff University geology department in Einstein’s Garden. We settled down to listen to Huw Stephens discussing his new book Wales – 100 Records, before congregating in the Walled Garden for this year’s secret set.

What an absolute treat to discover the TBA set was Green Man and Sŵn favourites Porridge Radio! They played a hauntingly beautiful set that sent chills through the crowd.

From tears of emotion to tears of laughter we kicked off the evening with a packed out set from Welsh comedy legend Kiri Pritchard-Mclean. Keeping the momentum going we caught Nadine Shah in Far Out before rounding off the night with headliner Big Thief on the Mountain Stage. Saturday gave us so much to explore and love, we just hope Sunday can live up to it’s usual highs as we roll into the final day.
