This February half term, families are invited to celebrate Lunar New Year at The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay with a fantastic programme of free activities to welcome the Year of the Horse.

he celebrations kick off on Tuesday 17 February, the official start of Lunar New Year, with a fun-filled afternoon. Visitors can enjoy free drop-in origami and calligraphy workshops, along with a lively Peking opera performance by Papergang Theatre at 12.30pm, 1.30, and 2.30pm.
On Wednesday 18 February, Explore Learning will host interactive, hands-on activities, including Lucky Red Envelope Maths, from 12-4pm, offering children a fun and educational way to engage with Lunar New Year traditions.
The celebrations culminate with the Centre’s much-loved annual signature event on Sunday 22 February, from 12pm-5pm, in partnership with the Cardiff Confucius Institute. Families can enjoy a lively afternoon of workshops including papercutting, lantern making, and Chinese knot-crafting, alongside music and dance performances, and a special appearance from a Chinese White Lion at 12:30pm, 2pm, and 3:30pm.

ll activities are completely free, making The Red Dragon Centre the perfect destination for a memorable half-term family day out. With a wide range of shops, restaurants, and cafes on site, visitors can enjoy a full day of Lunar New Year fun and entertainment.
