The Awen Project is set to enchant once again with the return of Wild Banquet, an evening of food, song, and story, on Midsummer’s Night. This unique annual charity event will take place in the magical grounds of Fonmon Castle under the Summer Solstice sky, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Wild Banquet offers a dining experience reminiscent of an Arthurian feast. Grace & Skye, the acclaimed London-based chefs, are returning to craft an exquisite menu that is both seasonal and sustainable. Guests will indulge in dishes made from foraged, fresh, and locally sourced ingredients, all prepared over roaring wood fires in the surrounding woods. For the foodies, this event promises to be a culinary treat like no other.
Throughout the evening, attendees will be serenaded by the students of the Awen Project performing romantic jazz standards, supported by some of Wales’ finest musicians, including Awen Project founder Charlotte Church. Additionally, guests will be treated to a sneak preview of the students’ upcoming theatre show, The Letter Killers Club, ahead of its July debut in Cardiff.

Our community of children and parents work so hard in putting together something that’s really special and gives them a fantastic learning opportunity whilst also being an essential fundraiser for our project.

The event will also feature a Charity Auction, offering one-of-a-kind experiences and unique items, with all proceeds going to support The Awen Project’s mission to empower young people.
In collaboration with the team at Fonmon Castle, the students will weave a spell of ancient Celtic magic, celebrating the festival of Alban Hefin, as named by Iolo Morgannwg. Guests can expect to leave the evening feeling nourished both in body and soul, filled with a renewed sense of possibility and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and myth of nature.
