Cosmeston Lake Aqua Park sponsors local lifeguard on the road to European Championships

Cosmeston Lake Aqua Park is proud to be supporting 17-year-old lifeguard Rosie Chick from Barry, as she heads to Poland this month to compete in the European Lifesaving Championships as part of the Great Britain Youth Team. 

Rosie, who joined the Cosmeston Aqua Park team in 2024, has quickly become a valued member of staff, qualifying as an Open Water Lifeguard at just 16, the youngest age possible. 

She comes from a family with strong ties to lifesaving – her brother Oliver (20) also joined the Aqua Park team at 16, working summers while studying at the University of Warwick. This year he’s training further to expand his skills, following in the footsteps of his sister.

The Aqua Park sponsorship funding has been donated directly to Surf Life Saving GB, the registered charity supporting the national teams, to help cover Rosie’s competition costs.

Rosie said:

“I’m so grateful to Aqua Park Group for supporting me on this journey. Representing Great Britain at the European Lifesaving Championships is a dream come true, and this sponsorship means I can concentrate on my training and preparation. I’m really excited to compete in Poland and I feel proud to represent both my country and my local community.”
