Chapter Arts launch Caffe Sio down Cardiff Bay.

Caffi Sïo, Chapter Arts Centre’s ‘culture café’ is officially opening in Cardiff Bay with a VIP-launch event this evening.
As well as offering tasters from the food and drink menu the guests will also enjoy a live performance from Cardiff based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gareth Bonello.
Joining the invited guests at the launch is Imran Nathoo, MasterChef 2017 finalist and celebrity food writer. Cardiff-resident Imran said, “I am a huge fan of Chapter Cafe Bar. It’s one of my regular go-to places to take friends and family. If Caffi Sio continues with the same ethos of freshly made, honest, tasty food in a relaxed and informal environment then I can see it doing well in its new home of Cardiff Bay. I can’t wait to try out the menu!”
The venue is excited to be offering this new dining experience in the Bay – where culture and artisan food and drink combine to create a unique place to eat, drink, socialise and work – the very definition of a culture cafe.
Sïo prides itself on being one of only a few independently owned ventures amongst the many chain restaurants in the Bay and the menu uses seasonal, local organic ingredients. Chapter’s Caffi Bar in Canton was recognised nationally by PETA as one of top five vegan-friendly cultural venues and Sïo’s dishes continues this tradition by catering for all tastes with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.
Foodies will be able to enjoy some of Chapter’s most iconic brunch and lunch dishes such as Spanish baked eggs (Eggs in tomato, chorizo and butter-bean stew served with saffron mascarpone cream and toasted sour-dough) or Buffalo Halloumi Taco – deep fried crispy Halloumi thrown in hot sauce, pico de gallo, avocado and charred corn salsa in soft corn taco.
Alongside the a-la-carte offerings there will be a ‘quick lunch’ menu, perfect for those working in the Bay and on a tight lunch-time schedule. A ‘hospitality menu’ is also on offer for those who wish to privately hire the venue for a corporate event or meeting.
All revenue generated from the cafe will go back into supporting the community programme at their Canton venue and they will also announce an events programme for Caffi Sïo in the coming weeks. They are delighted to be working with artist Laura Sorvala who will be producing a new piece of art in the Café to illustrate Chapter’s journey over the last 47 years. She will be producing the artwork during opening hours so people can come and see the work as it develops. Other cultural highlights will include live music events and the venue will also stock leading cultural magazines for customers to peruse while they eat and drink.
Sio is open 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm for breakfast, brunch, lunch and coffee in the Craft in the Bay building.
