Cardiff’s Legendary Club Night Time Flies Calls Time Out

After more than three decades at the heart of Cardiff’s nightlife, Time Flies — the city’s longest-running club night — is calling time. To mark the end of an era, the team behind the legendary brand will throw one final party on Saturday 31 January 2026 at Y Plas, Cardiff University Students’ Union — scene of the epic Time Flies 30th Anniversary in 2024.

First launched in 1994 during the UK house music explosion, Time Flies was the brainchild of Henry Blunt, who once worked as one of the entertainments managers at Cardiff University Students’ Union. One of the first club brands to emerge in South Wales, it quickly became a defining force in the city’s nightlife, hosting parties at iconic venues such as the Coal Exchange and City Hall. The club’s famous clock logo even originates from the Coal Exchange clock itself .

Over the years, Time Flies brought some of the world’s biggest DJs to Cardiff, including Pete Tong, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk, and Hacienda legend Graeme Park, cementing its reputation as one of the UK’s most influential club nights.

For its last dance, the night will be headlined by a stellar line-up of house music royalty, with Cream legend Seb Fontaine, John Kelly, Jon Pleased Wimmin, and Alex P joining long-standing residents James Merritt, Dave Eaves, Rick Latham, Tyrone Rose, and Shane Morris amongst others plus local stars Craig Bartlett, Dave Jones and Paul Lyons.

Tickets go on sale from 8am on Friday 3rd October:

  • £20 Earlybird
  • £25 Standard
  • £35 VIP

The final Time Flies will literally be an end of an era, a night of music, memories, and celebration — a chance for generations of clubbers to come together one last time and say farewell to a true Cardiff institution.
