Chocolate fans rejoice a new sweet and dessert shop have have created something extra special in the form of Cardiff’s first chocolate kebab!
Sweetbox opened last week and have been a huge hit so far and its easy to see why. Other toppings include fresh strawberries, banana, crumbled cookies and chocolate on their crepes and waffles they also offer an insane chocolate kebab!
The chocolate kebab is a giant chunk of chocolate on a revolving spit, just like a meat kebab, except this one is in a fridge and made purely of chocolate.
In addition to this chocolatey delight, they also sell stir-fried ice cream , also know as ice cream roll.
According to Food Hacks, it originated in Thailand – and they explain why it’s different to usual ice cream: “Unlike most ice creams made ahead of time in an electronic ice cream machine, rolled ice cream – also known as stir-fried ice cream – is made to order by hand.”
The ice cream is made by pouring sweet milk on a below-frozen steel surface – reportedly -35°C.
Then, they add: “Paint scrapers or metal spatulas are then used to chop toppings into the base and scrape it around to create air. Once the base is frozen solid, it is spread thinly and scraped at an angle to create the magnificent rolls of ice cream.”
The rolls are then made eye-catching with fruit, sauces and whatever sprinkles you have to hand.
