Aqua Park Cardiff Gets the Green Light for New Home at Cosmeston Lake

Cardiff Bay’s popular Aqua Park has officially been given the go-ahead to set up at Cosmeston Lakes Country Parkthis summer, with the Vale of Glamorgan Council confirming plans to open the attraction in time for the school summer holiday.

Originally scheduled to launch in May, the project will now operate on a pilot basis until September, giving locals and visitors a fresh way to enjoy the outdoors at one of the region’s most scenic nature spots.

The water-based inflatable park, previously a big hit at Cardiff Bay, will now float on the eastern lake at Cosmeston. Council officials confirmed that extensive water quality testing has already been carried out in partnership with local agencies to ensure the safety of all Aqua Park visitors.

They have also been quick to reassure the public that the Aqua Park will not interfere with the local wildlife that call the former quarry site home. The Vale of Glamorgan Council says environmental concerns have been carefully considered throughout the planning process, with the natural surroundings remaining protected.

Work to install the inflatable attraction is due to begin on Monday 9th June, with tickets going on sale next Monday 2nd June

Whether you’re after a fun family day out, a splashy team-building event, or just a new way to cool off this summer, the Aqua Park is set to bring some extra excitement to Cosmeston Lakes – just in time for the heatwave (fingers crossed).
