Alun Wyn Jones paddleboards with fans in Cardiff Bay ahead of Six Nations fixture

Welsh rugby legend and Celebrity MasterChef finalist Alun Wyn Jones was pictured this morning taking to the water with rugby fans in Cardiff Bay on a paddle board ahead of Wales’ first home fixture against France in the Guinness Six Nations.

The activity was part of the Fancierge service from IHG Hotels & Resorts’, the official hotel partner of the Guinness Six Nations, in which fans can book a number of free experiences to help to turn their trips to games into a full weekend of fun.

Alun Wyn Jones said added “The action on the pitch speaks for itself at the Guinness Six Nations, but I love that IHG Hotels & Resorts are helping to show how great the host cities are for a weekend away beyond just the game. Cardiff Bay may be a little bit nippy this time of year, but getting out on a paddleboard with some of the fans this morning was great fun. What more could you ask for on Valentine’s Day!?”

The ‘Fancierge’ service from IHG Hotels and Resorts was launched as new research shows 88% of sports fans say they would extend a trip to watch a sporting event to turn it into a full weekend getaway, and 72% of fans believe that some of the best memories during a weekend trip happen outside of the stadium.
