Grand Bar & Kitchen
The latest venture from Rob Toogood, owner of Fuel and commentator of Cardiff Blues games, The Grand Bar has made a Grand return. The iconic building rich in sporting history, in particular Women’s Rugby, has been renovated and reopened to the public. Serving classic Welsh pub grub and offering up a great place to kick back and relax in the famous Green Parrot bar, this is going to be a staple of the City centre bar scene for years to come.

Boxini gives you access to delicious, fresh, and top‑quality groceries from independent local businesses in South Wales, delivering the perfect produce for any summer party, BBQ or camping trip. It has never been easier to support local in one convenient doorstep delivery.
Street Food Teras
One place that has absolutely risen as a firm favourite since the weather has been so nice is the street food stand Teras outside the Millennium Centre. What is better than a few cheeky cocktails and some of Queen Pepiada’s arepas, a Venezuelan patty filled with fresh herbs and chicken? And the location is tough to beat, in sight of the water and ideal to start or end your leisurely stroll out to barrage to catch the best of the summer sun.
Perfect fo these sunny summer days!

Scaramantica Pizzeria
Another traditional food venue to pop up in the city this summer. Classic Neapolitan Pizzeria and cocktail bar, Scaramantica, opens on Albany Road. All pizza lovers are catered for here, including vegans who can enjoy thin crust pizza topped with San Marzano tomatoes and Sicilian Olives. Head chef Tony Frawley absolutely delivers with his signature pizzas, no gimmicks, just simply delicious fresh food.
St Andrews Coffee Court
Brand new venture from the iconic Cardiff duo Wyburn & Wayne. After working for years to secure funds for St Andrew’s Church with the hugely popular Dragged 2 Church events, the pair have expanded into the front courtyard with a new Coffee van, all proceeds going to the church. Its quickly become one of the most relaxing spots in the Roath area so make sure to check it out. Also swing by Morgan’s Arcade off the Hayes to see Nathan Wyburn’s latest exhibit, showcasing some of the best of his art for you to see for free!
Home – James Sommerin
After the devastating closure of James Sommerin’s restaurant last year we are delighted to say that he will be returning to Penarth with a brand-new venture called Home. We do not know much at this time other than its location in the centre of Penarth, away from his previous location on the waterfront. We are sure that whatever James comes up with will be just as incredible as always. And in the meantime, you can still enjoy The Shed in Barry.
Tŷ Melin Bakery
Translating to ‘mill house’, Tŷ Melin Bakery is the brainchild of baking duo Lance and Angharad. Opening this summer, the bakery will soon be filling the Bayscape area with the smell of fresh croissants in the morning and cakes and custard tarts, all baked fresh. Worth the trip to try the signature ‘Croissant Bomb’, to treat yourself in the sunshine soon.

This spot has been one of Cardiff Bay’s hidden gems for those wanting to catch a stunning sunset over a glass of wine. Now taken over by the Lo Lounge team, founded by Konsa and Matt Zain (formally Etc Penarth & Mocka Lounge ) offering that taste of Balearic beach vibe in Cardiff bay.
