Where To Go Pumpkin Picking in South Wales 2026

Autumn is almost here, which means pumpkin patches across South Wales are getting ready to open their gates once again.

And pumpkin picking has become much more than simply wandering into a field and finding one to carve.

This year you’ll find everything from huge pumpkin villages and maize mazes to tractor rides, farm animals, live entertainment, street food and twilight picking after dark.

So grab the wellies, find a wheelbarrow and start planning your autumn adventures. Here are some of the places to go pumpkin picking around Cardiff and South Wales in 2026.

Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen

Forage’s popular pumpkin picking experience is officially returning from 3 to 31 October, and this year’s event is bigger again.

Jump aboard the tractor trailer and head out to the pumpkin fields before exploring the Maze of Maize, meeting the farm animals, climbing on the hay bales and visiting the Whacky Patch, where you’ll find more than 20 varieties of pumpkins and squash.

There are also plenty of photo opportunities and activities around the farm.

For those who fancy experiencing the patch after dark, Forage is extending its Twilight Picking Experience this year, with illuminated fields, a bigger scare maze, live actors, fire performers and stilt walkers on selected evenings.

Clearwell Farm

One of the most colourful pumpkin experiences around Cardiff is back for 2026, with Clearwell Farm bringing back its huge Pumpkin Village alongside thousands of homegrown pumpkins.

The farm says it has around 60,000 pumpkins and 27 varieties to choose from this year, with visitors able to wander through the fields or explore the famous life-size village covered in pumpkins.

There will also be street food, live entertainment, carnival games and plenty of autumn photo opportunities. Twilight sessions bring live music to the farm, while those wanting something much scarier can book separately for the Harvest of Horror after dark.

Daytime pumpkin picking runs on selected dates throughout October.

Vale Pick Your Own

Vale Pick Your Own at Greenland Farm near Bonvilston is another one to put on the autumn list.

The family-run farm returns to pumpkin picking during October, with both daytime and twilight experiences.

During the day, expect pumpkin picking, roaming Halloween characters, photo opportunities, hot food and drinks from the farm café. When darkness arrives, the Twilight experience adds live music, a pumpkin trail, licensed bar and an altogether more atmospheric way to find your pumpkin.

Daytime admission is currently listed at £10 per car, with pumpkins purchased separately.

Gower Fresh Pumpkin Festival

If you don’t mind travelling a little further, Gower Fresh is going big for Halloween again this year.

Better known throughout the winter for its Christmas trees, the Gower farm transforms into a huge pumpkin attraction during October.

Its Halloween on Gower 2026 experience includes an enormous pumpkin patch, Haunted Trail through the Christmas trees, the farm’s reindeer herd and a collection of autumn displays including its giant Pumpkin House and pumpkin arches.

There are daytime family experiences as well as much scarier events planned after dark, making this one that can work for families or those looking for more of a Halloween experience.

Copper & Holly

For something a little quieter and more traditional, Copper & Holly’s pumpkin patch near Brecon is returning for 2026.

The family-run smallholding focuses more on celebrating autumn than Halloween scares, so don’t expect terrifying characters jumping out from behind the pumpkins.

Instead, visitors can wander the patch, choose their pumpkins and visit the small seasonal shop and café. The site is also dog friendly, subject to its farm rules.

The team has confirmed that the pumpkin patch will reopen in 2026, although exact dates and opening hours are still to be announced.

Pencoed Fach Farm

Pencoed Fach Farm in Blackwood is another working farm bringing back pumpkin picking this October.

The family-run organic farm has been in the Davies family since 1912 and now welcomes visitors throughout the year for seasonal events, including its sunflower field and annual pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

It’s also home to The Littlest Dairy, where visitors can pick up the farm’s organic milk, milkshakes and other treats.

Exact pumpkin picking dates for 2026 are still to be announced, so keep an eye on the farm’s social pages before travelling.

Ty Poeth Farm

Set alongside the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal near Pontypool, Ty Poeth is another family-run working farm that offers seasonal pick-your-own experiences.

The farm grows fruit, vegetables and flowers throughout the year, with pumpkins joining the line-up during autumn.

There’s also an on-site farm shop selling produce grown and reared at the farm, making it a nice option if you’re looking for a more traditional farm visit.

Specific 2026 pumpkin dates are still to be confirmed, so check with the farm before making the journey.
