Escape Hunt Set to Open New 5 star Escape Rooms in Cardiff

A new immersive attraction is on its way to the city centre, as Escape Hunt has been given the green light to open inside St David’s Shopping Centre.

The global escape room brand will take over the former Chimichanga unit next to Ciliegino, transforming the space into a two-floor venue packed with interactive puzzle rooms.

Escape Hunt is already a well-known name worldwide The first branch was opened in 2013 in Bangkok since when it has grown quickly, becoming a franchised global network of 50 branches , with locations across the UK and beyond. The closest current site for Welsh fans is in Bristol’s Cabot Circus, but this new opening will bring the experience right into the heart of Cardiff.

The concept is simple but addictive. Players enter themed rooms and work together to solve puzzles, crack clues and beat the clock before time runs out.

A number of popular themes are expected to feature at the Cardiff site, including:

  • Alice in Puzzleland, where players must save the Mad Hatter
  • Curse of the Pharaoh, uncovering ancient secrets
  • A Dracula-themed challenge, taking on the legendary vampire

The venue is expected to operate seven days a week from 10am to 11pm, offering something different for everything from daytime visits to evening plans.

While there is no confirmed opening date just yet, the approved plans signal a big addition to Cardiff’s growing list of indoor activities.

For anyone who enjoys a challenge or is looking for something a bit more interactive than the usual city centre outing, this is one to keep an eye on.
