Spitstock Festival Set to Bring Music, Skateboarding and Food to Cardiff This August

Cardiff’s biggest indoor skatepark, Spit & Sawdust, is gearing up to host its biggest ever event — Spitstock, a one-day music and arts festival taking place on Saturday 23 August.

The unique venue, located just outside the city centre, will transform into a vibrant festival site featuring a full day of live music, a cinema tent, food stalls, hot Sauna and ice baths and, of course, top-level skateboarding. It’s the first time Spit & Sawdust has run an event of this scale, blending underground music culture with skateboarding in a setting that’s proudly DIY and community-rooted.

The festival coincides with the Welsh Rampage , part of the UK Vert Series — which takes place the following day (Sunday 24 August), showcasing the highest level of vert ramp skateboarding in the country. Sunday’s event is free to attend and will feature pro-level tricks, a buzzing atmosphere and plenty more to be announced soon.

Saturday’s Spitstock line-up features a mix of rising talent and alternative favourites including:

  • Small Miracles
  • Em Koko
  • Flat Stanley
  • Los Savages
  • Martin Carr (formerly of The Boo Radleys)
  • Ivor Woods
  • Graveyard Tramp Mixtapes

Tickets for Saturday’s festival are £20 for adults, £17 for teens, and £13 for children aged 6 to 12. It’s a ticket-only event for the whole site and all the details, including booking info, can be found on Spit & Sawdust’s website.

Spit & Sawdust have built a reputation over the last decade for combining skateboarding with art, music and community activity. Spitstock looks set to be the ultimate celebration of that ethos – a weekend of rocking out, skating, hanging out and vert ramp wizardry.

Sunday’s vert series event is free to attend with Bloody Marys on hand to help ease any sore heads from the night before.
