Never thought a band I discovered on TikTok could sound even better live – but Bôa proved me wrong.
This Thursday in Cardiff, I caught Bôa live at the Tramshed, supported by Ashaine White.
Even though doors opened at 7pm and Ashaine wasn’t on until 8, I was surprised at how busy it was early on. The venue filled up quickly with a crowd clearly excited to see both acts. The atmosphere was friendly and respectful, and despite it getting pretty warm inside, the Tramshed staff were great – security handed out water throughout the night, which everyone appreciated.
Ashaine White kicked things off around 8pm with a full backing band. Her vocal range was incredible – I couldn’t believe she doesn’t have more Spotify listeners. She definitely deserves more attention. The crowd loved her, and she even got us singing along to a few songs. My highlight was Whole Lotta Me, but she also gave us a taste of some unreleased tracks, including Hug Me.

Bôa took to the stage at 9pm and played through until around 10:30. Their setlist was solid – they opened with Deeply, which instantly grabbed the crowd’s attention, especially as people started filming. They played tracks from across their albums, saving fan favourites Duvet and Twilight for the end.
For a band coming off a 20-year break, their chemistry was spot-on. After cancelling their last Cardiff date, it felt like they were making up for lost time – the energy they brought was massive.
