Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Jill Andrews is playing at the Gate Arts centre.
US singer-songwriter is hitting the road on her first UK tour in November, stopping at Cardiff’s at the Gates Arts Centre.
With over 100 million Spotify streams, Jill Andrews’s music is used on the soundtracks for Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Wife, Nashville, Wynonna Earp and This Is Us. Her talent started from her days fronting lauded Americana group, the Everbodyfields, to her own successful solo career as a writer and performer; Jill Andrews’ music has taken her far from her East Tennessee home. She has collaborated and shared the stage with countless celebrated artists including the Avett Brothers, Langhorne Slim, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, and the Secret Sisters.
Jill Andrew is now heading to the UK this November, with only three stops in Wales, first up the established music venue, The Gate in Cardiff on 11 November.
Featuring emotional melodies, intimate storytelling, and vocals that soar even at a whisper, Andrews’ third studio album, Thirties, is a deviation, it resists contemplating the big, loud questions of the world, and rather, invites listeners to look inward, keeping us closer to home than ever before.
Complementing Jill Andrews will be support from West Wales Indie trio band Sky Barkers, who’s style is groove based, hook heavy, vocal laden, lyrically connective and energy driven music, rooted in songwriting but with a wonky edge.
